Marking files by language makes for quicker transcription as the person receiving them does not have to listen to multiple files to ascertain what language each interview is in!

 


How to Identify the Language

facebook shareThe samples shown below is the way we prefer fiels to be named. Using this format allows the quickest sorting, hence the faster we can proces your material.

Name the file and add one of the language ID codes at the end of the file name (before the file extension) e.g. IC_A_001-z for Zulu, IC_A_001x for xhosa, IC_A_001-s for Sotho and IC_A_001-a for Afrikaans).

The resulting file name should look something like this johnrecording-z.mp3 for an mp3 audio file of a recording in Zulu
